WE MUST not rely too much upon ourselves, for grace and understanding are often lacking in us. We have but little inborn light, and this we quickly lose through negligence. Often we are not aware that we are so blind in heart. Meanwhile we do wrong, and then do worse in excusing it. At times we are moved by passion, and we think it zeal. We take others to task for small mistakes, and overlook greater ones in ourselves. We are quick enough to feel and brood over the things we suffer from others, but we think nothing of how much others suffer from us. If a man would weigh his own deeds fully and rightly, he would find little cause to pass severe judgment on others. The interior man puts the care of himself before all other concerns, and he who attends to himself carefully does not find it hard to hold his tongue about others. You will never be devout of heart unless you are thus silent about the affairs of others and pay particular attention to yourself. If you attend wholly to God and yourself, you will be little disturbed by what you see about you. Where are your thoughts when they are not upon yourself? And after attending to various things, what have you gained if you have neglected self? If you wish to have true peace of mind and unity of purpose, you must cast all else aside and keep only yourself before your eyes. You will make great progress if you keep yourself free from all temporal cares, for to value anything that is temporal is a great mistake. Consider nothing great, nothing high, nothing pleasing, nothing acceptable, except God Himself or that which is of God. Consider the consolations of creatures as vanity, for the soul that loves God scorns all things that are inferior to Him. God alone, the eternal and infinite, satisfies all, bringing comfort to the soul and true joy to the body. The Sixth Chapter

A Intimate Friendship With The Risen Christ

WHEN Jesus is near, all is well and nothing seems difficult. When He is absent, all is hard. When Jesus does not speak within, all other comfort is empty, but if He says only a word, it brings great consolation. Did not Mary Magdalen rise at once from her weeping when Martha said to her: “The Master is come, and calls for you”? [14] Happy is the hour when Jesus calls one from tears to joy of spirit. How dry and hard you are without Jesus! How foolish and vain if you desire anything but Him! Is it not a greater loss than losing the whole world? For what, without Jesus, can the world give you? Life without Him is a relentless hell, but living with Him is a sweet paradise. If Jesus be with you, no enemy can harm you

What I learned from my poor decisions and why it’s cool not to give it all away.

How jizya funds terror groups

Quite frankly we know why the demand it

Money Jihad

The traditional Islamic tax on non-Muslims, jizya, which is imposed by various terrorist and militant groups across the Islamic world today, is frequently viewed singularly as a problem of religious persecution.

While the maltreatment of non-Muslim minorities is indeed a serious problem, what’s often overlooked is how jizya serves as a revenue generator for terrorist groups.  It’s time to look at some of the basics of this problem:

Who benefits from jizya?

What do they spend jizya on?

  • Paying wages to fighters and operatives
  • Buying weapons, equipment, and supplies.  (For example, the Assyrian International News Agency reported that one jizya collector “demanded 10,000 Egyptian pounds so that he could buy weapons.”  Another observer recently wrote that the imposition of jizya in Iraq is because “ISIL needs money to buy arms off the black market.”)
  • Planning and carrying out terrorist…

Saeed Abedini, US pastor held in Iran, denied treatment after prison beating

Saeed Abedini, US pastor held in Iran, denied treatment after prison beating – FoxNews .

(Shows us the pure EVIL and barbarism of the mullah regime. Like the Iranian weapons ship this poor man’s fate will most likely be ignored by the P5+1 in order to strike a deal. To our American readers: Please do whatever is in your power, even if that is only writing a letter or an email, to help him. – Artaxes)

An American pastor being held in one of Iran’s most brutal prisons is in serious danger, after initially being refused medical treatment following a beating at the hands of his jailers, supporters of Saeed Abedini said.

The 33-year-old Abedini, whose wife, son and daughter are at their home in…

Barley for First Fruits Updated!

Segulah's Blog

I want to let everyone know that I was able to get my barley seed in the ground on 12 November 2013, the very night of our first frost for this winter season here in central Texas USA. I am excited to see how this goes. This is the very first time I have endeavored to grow barley. Why am I doing this?

Each year at the Festival of First Fruits… my husband and I struggle with exactly how to fulfill the priestly duties of waving our sheaf of barley before YaHUaH. Each year we have done it a little differently in our continued pursuit of how to accomplish keeping the instruction to wave our first fruits. Now that Abba has blessed me with a small garden I thought, “yes! of course! Let me plant some barley and see if I am given a blessing to be able to truly…

Arabic Bibles have been falsified to please Muslim converts

News that matters

Some Muslims supposed to have converted to faith in “Jesus”, still use the word “allah” for God, and ”Isa” for Jesus. A doctrinal clarification is needed.

Most of the Christian media have been silent in regards to new “Muslim-friendly Bibles”. But one American media has sounded the alarm about the corrupt modern “bible translations”.

This is what has been reported:

It includes the controversial development is the removal of any references to God as “Father,” to Jesus as the “Son” or “the Son of God.” One example of such a change can be seen in an Arabic version of the Gospel of Matthew produced and promoted by Frontiers and SIL. It changes Matthew 28:19from this:

“baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit”

to this:

“cleanse them by water in the name of Allah, his Messiah and his Holy Spirit.”
