This World is Not My Home

April 26, 2013

Not Of This World

Yes, Sweeter than Honey

“This world is not my home, I’m just a passing thru.  My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue; The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door, And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore” (Albert E. Brumley).  Paul makes a similar claim saying But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).  As Christians, we need not forget that this physical world is not our home, but this is a temporary journey we are on just for a short time, but our eternal home is waiting for us in heaven.  Yet while we remain on this journey, let us each day be storing our treasures in heaven and not here on earth (Matthew 6:20).
